1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between CHEFNOMICS TECHNOLOGIES W.L.L., trading as Chefnomics (Commercial Registration No. 200684-1), Level 2, Unit 202, The Terminal, Building 120, Road 3803, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain ("Chefnomics", "we", "us"), and the business that creates an account ("you").
Chefnomics is a web app that helps restaurants cost their recipes and set menu prices. It includes Chef AYA, an AI assistant that turns what you type, say or upload into costed recipes.
By creating an account, paying for a plan, or using Chefnomics, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. Ticking a box or pressing a button to accept is a valid electronic acceptance, and our records of it can be used as evidence. We keep a record of what you accept and when, including the document versions, the boxes you tick, the language shown, the date and time, and your IP address and browser.
2. Who can use Chefnomics
Chefnomics is for businesses, not consumers. You confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old;
- you are using Chefnomics for your restaurant or food business; and
- if you sign up for a company, you have the authority to accept these terms for it.
3. Your account, team and restaurants
- Keep your login safe. Give accurate details, keep your password private, and do not share one login between businesses. Tell us quickly if you think someone else has your login.
- You are responsible for your account. That includes what your team members do and what you enter, including other people's details such as supplier contacts and client names. You must have the right to enter them.
- Team members. You can invite people and choose what each one can see and do. Your plan includes 3 people, including you, plus 1 more for each extra restaurant. You can pause or remove them at any time.
- Several restaurants. You can run more than one restaurant under one account, if your plan includes them. Sharing ingredients, recipes or suppliers between your restaurants is off until you turn it on, and changing a shared ingredient's price changes the cost of every recipe that uses it in every connected restaurant.
4. Plans, prices and payment
| Plan | Price (founder) | Standard price |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | USD 25 per month | The price on our Pricing page at that time |
| Annual | USD 250 per year | The price on our Pricing page at that time |
| Each extra restaurant | USD 5 per month, or USD 50 per year | The price on our Pricing page at that time |
No free trial. You pay when you sign up. There is no free trial or free plan. We may, at our own choice, give selected accounts free time or a free account. That does not change these terms for anyone else.
Payment. Payments are handled by Tap Payments. You can pay by card, Apple Pay, Benefit or Benefit Pay. Card details go to Tap and never reach us. Cards and Apple Pay renew automatically until you cancel. Benefit and Benefit Pay can be used for annual plans only. They cover one payment at a time, so you renew by hand when the year ends. We email you reminders 14 days and 3 days before it ends. If a renewal cannot be charged, it is treated as a failed payment. When you pay, you do so on Tap Payments' own page. Tap runs that page under its own policies and may set its own cookies there.
Currency. Prices are shown in US dollars and charged in Bahraini dinars. We use a fixed rate of USD 1 = BHD 0.376.
VAT. Our prices do not include VAT, because we are not VAT registered yet. If we become registered, we will add VAT where the law requires, and tell you before we do.
3-month minimum on monthly plans. A monthly plan has a minimum commitment of 3 months. You cannot cancel it until three monthly payments have been completed. The minimum total is USD 75, charged as BHD 28.200 in three monthly payments. We show this at checkout and ask you to confirm it before you pay. Annual plans are paid for 12 months of access in one payment and have no separate minimum. Monthly plans can be paid only by card or Apple Pay, so the monthly payments are collected automatically.
Founder price. If you subscribe at the founder price, you keep it for as long as your subscription stays active without a break. If your plan ends (you cancelled, or a yearly Benefit plan was not paid by its end date) or a renewal payment fails, you keep the founder price if you restart or pay within 3 days. After that, the founder price is lost and you pay the price in force at that time. The founder price is an introductory offer for new customers. We decide how long it stays open, and we may change or end it for new customers at any time. The current price is always shown on our Pricing page.
Extra restaurants. An extra restaurant is an add-on to your plan. Each extra restaurant adds room for 1 more person. On a monthly plan, you pay USD 5 when you add a restaurant. That payment covers its first month, which starts at your next renewal, so the days until then are free. After that it is billed with your plan each month. On an annual plan, an add-on runs for 12 months from the day you add it and ends exactly one year later, whatever your usage. It is not prorated and does not pause.
Changing your plan or restaurants. You can change your plan at any time. To move from yearly to monthly, you choose the change in advance, and it takes effect when your yearly term ends. You can move from monthly to yearly at any time, including during the 3-month minimum. The yearly plan starts when the month you have already paid for ends, and nothing is charged when you switch. You still cannot cancel until the third monthly payment. On a monthly plan you can remove a restaurant at any time. You keep it until the end of the month you have paid for, and its payments then stop. On a yearly plan, removing a restaurant does not stop or reduce the yearly payment, and we do not refund it.
Price changes. If we change a standard price, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and it will apply from your next renewal. Founder prices stay as described above.
5. Cancelling, expiry, non-payment and refunds
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in Settings, then Plan and Billing, once any 3-month minimum has been completed. Until then, the app blocks cancelling and tells you why. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and the plan does not renew.
- Annual plans. You have access for the full year. If you cancel part-way through, you keep access until the year ends and we do not refund the rest.
- Refunds. We do not give refunds for time you have already paid for, except when something goes wrong on our side, as set out in our Refund Policy. You cannot use Chefnomics, cost your menu and then ask for your money back. This does not limit any right you have under Bahraini law that cannot be excluded by contract, for example if we fail to provide the service you paid for.
- If a payment fails. We try the card once more 15 minutes after the first failure, and we email you when the first payment fails. If that also fails, your account is locked right away, and paying unlocks it at once. The account stays locked until the payment is made. Your data is kept, locked, for 12 months so you can come back, and we email you a reminder 30 days before it is deleted.
- Deleting your account. You can delete your account yourself. There is a 30-day window to change your mind, and then your data is permanently deleted, as the Privacy Policy explains. Payment records are kept.
6. Chef AYA and the accuracy of figures
- Chef AYA can misunderstand. It interprets what you type, say or upload. Prices it picks up wait in a review list and are saved only after you check and approve them.
- The maths is ours, the data is yours. Costs, margins and suggested prices are calculated by our own formulas from the data you enter. If your ingredient prices, pack sizes or quantities are wrong, the results will be wrong.
- Check before you rely on it. Please check the figures before you use them for menu prices, catering quotes or other business decisions. Chefnomics is a tool to help you decide. We do not promise any profit, margin or result.
- Catering quotes. The "never over budget" promise on a catering quote holds only when the prices, quantities and settings you entered are correct.
- Usage limits. Chef AYA has a monthly usage limit for each restaurant. When it is reached, Chef AYA pauses for that restaurant and the rest of the app keeps working.
7. Your data, ownership and privacy
- Your data is yours. You own the recipes, costs, prices and other business data you put into Chefnomics.
- What we do with it. You allow us to store and process it only to run the service for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. We do not sell it, and we do not use your recipe and pricing data to train AI models.
- Getting it out. You can download your data at any time (Excel, CSV, PDF and a full backup). The backup covers your account, restaurants and data, change history, team members, and sign-in and security records. It does not yet include payment history.
- Other people's details. If you enter personal details about other people, you are responsible for having the right to do so.
- Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we handle, who we share it with and how long we keep it. We do not offer a separate data processing agreement. The Privacy Policy and these terms cover how we handle data on your behalf.
8. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- attack, probe or try to break the service or its security, or try to reach another account's data;
- scrape, copy or resell the service or its data, or use it to build a competing product;
- share one login between different businesses;
- send illegal, harmful or infringing content, or upload anything you have no right to use;
- overload the service, or try to get around usage limits, rate limits or Chef AYA's limits;
- use Chef AYA to produce content unrelated to restaurant costing.
We may suspend or limit an account that breaks these rules, as section 12 explains.
9. Availability, changes and support
- As is. Chefnomics is provided as it is and as it is available. We work to keep it running, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error free or uninterrupted. There may be downtime, including for maintenance and because of our providers.
- Changes. We improve the service over time and may change, add or remove features. We will give reasonable notice of big changes that affect what you pay for.
- Support. You can reach us at support@chefnomics.com.
10. Our property and your feedback
Chefnomics, its software, design, name and logo belong to us. You get a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service for your own business while you have an active plan. You may not copy, modify or reverse-engineer it.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Chefnomics without owing you anything.
11. Limits on our responsibility
- We are not responsible for losses that come from wrong data you entered, decisions you made using the figures, or things outside our reasonable control, such as an outage at an internet, hosting, AI or payment provider.
- We are not responsible for indirect losses or lost profit, revenue or business.
- Our total responsibility to you for all claims about the service together is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the first claim arose.
- Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that Bahraini law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud or gross negligence, or any right you have under mandatory law.
12. Suspension and ending the service
- You can leave at any time, as section 5 explains.
- We can suspend or close an account if you break these terms or the law, if a payment is not made, or if your use puts the service or other customers at risk. Where we can, we will warn you first and give you time to fix the problem.
- If we stop offering Chefnomics, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to download your data.
- After the account ends, your data is handled as the Privacy Policy and section 5 describe. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as ownership, limits on our responsibility and governing law, keep applying.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain. If we cannot settle a disagreement by talking first, the courts of Bahrain have jurisdiction.
14. General terms
- The whole agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund and Cancellation Policy and the Cookie Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Chefnomics.
- Payment provider. Tap Payments handles payments, and its own terms apply to the payment step. We are not responsible for how your bank or card provider treats a payment.
- Notices. We send notices to the email address on your account or show them in the app. You can send notices to support@chefnomics.com.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for a delay or failure caused by something outside our reasonable control, such as an outage at an internet, hosting, AI or payment provider.
- If part of these terms is not valid, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not given it up.
- Transfer. We may transfer our rights and duties to a company that takes over the Chefnomics business, and we will tell you. You may not transfer your account without our written agreement.
- Language. Our documents are written in English and will also be offered in Arabic. If the two versions differ, the Arabic version prevails.
15. Changes to these terms, and contact
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect, and ask you to accept the new version where the law requires. If you keep using Chefnomics after it takes effect, the new terms apply. This is version 1.0, effective 5 November 2026.
